WELCOME TO GOOD NATURED ROOTS: The Monthly Craft Troop

THE LORE
🕯️ The Good Natured Promise
I pledge to slow down and walk with the seasons. I will seek the wisdom of the trees, the magic of the moss, and the craft of my ancestors. I promise to quiet the noise of the modern world for two hours a month, to create with dirty hands and a light heart, and to celebrate the quiet wonder of rural Maine alongside my fellow scouts.
🎒 Remember the Magic of Being a Scout?
The smell of the pine trees, the satisfaction of getting your hands dirty, and the quiet pride of pinning a brand-new, hard-earned badge onto your sash?
It’s time to bring that magic back—with an adult twist.
Welcome to Good Natured Roots, a monthly craft workshop series guided by Good Natured and hosted at the cozy, Norse-inspired Aegirs Den Meadery in Palermo, Maine. Working hand-in-hand with the changing seasons, local holidays, and earth solstices, we gather once a month to create beautiful, nature-infused crafts while sipping local mead.
Whether you’re a seasoned maker or haven't touched a pair of scissors since middle school, you have a place at our table.
🧭 How the Troop Works
We've structured our troop to be easy, relaxing, and incredibly rewarding. Here is what to expect on the 3rd Thursday of every month (6:00 PM – 8:00 PM):
Step 1: Gather at the Meadery Step into the warm, welcoming atmosphere of Aegirs Den. Grab a pint of seasonal mead, settle in at the crafting table, and catch up with neighbors and friends.
Step 2: Open Your Field Kit Each month, you’ll be supplied with a curated selection of natural elements—foraged Maine flora, textiles, wool, beeswax, and rustic embellishments—to guide your seasonal craft.
Step 3: Earn Your Badge At the end of the night, we close with a pinning ceremony. You will be officially awarded a handmade felt-and-charm badge to pin onto your canvas scout tote to show off your progress!
