🍂 Autumn: The Harvest Quarter

September | Botanical Hammering (The Series Launch!)

• The Craft: We are kicking off the year by creating our official troop "uniform." Using foraged late-summer blooms and leaves from the Maine landscape, you’ll learn the satisfying art of botanical hammering to transfer natural pigments directly onto a heavy-duty canvas tote bag. This bag will serve as your Field Kit to hold your supplies and display your badges all year long.

October | Woodland Spirit Dolls

• The Craft: As the veil thins and autumn deepens, we turn to the forest for inspiration. Using gathered twigs, vintage fabric scraps, yarn, and acorns, we will construct intuitive "spirit dolls." These rustic, whimsical figures can be placed on an altar, hung in a window, or kept as a quiet guardian of your hearth.

November | Natural Bird Feeders & Seed Ornaments

• The Craft: Before the deep winter sets in, it’s time to give back to our woodland neighbors. We’ll get our hands messy mixing suet, local seeds, and dried berries to press into pinecones and natural molds. You'll leave with beautiful, hanging treats to nourish the local wildlife in your backyard.

• The Reward: Earn the Wildlife Warden Badge

December | Pompom Wreaths & Pinecone Tassels

• The Craft: Celebrate the Winter Solstice (Yule) by bringing the evergreen indoors. We’ll be sipping spiced mead and wrapping cozy yarn pompoms to pair with foraged balsam fir, pinecones, and dried citrus. You'll craft a festive, tactile mini-wreath or hanging tassel to deck your halls.

January | Intention & Vision Flags

• The Craft: The new year in rural Maine is quiet, reflective, and deep. We will use rustic muslin, block stamps, and natural dyes to create personal "vision flags." Stitch your intentions, a favorite quote, or a simple symbol onto your flags to hang in your home as a guiding light for the year ahead.

February | Slow Stitching & Visible Mending

• The Craft: Embrace the art of sustainability and coziness. Bring in a well-loved piece of clothing that needs a patch, or practice on our provided linen swatches. We will sit by the fire, sip mead, and learn the meditative practice of visible mending using colorful embroidery floss and sashiko-inspired techniques.

🌱 Spring: The Awakening Quarter

March | Guerrilla Gardener Seed Bombs

• The Craft: As the earth begins to thaw, we prepare to bring the color back. Get your hands deep into the dirt as we roll clay, compost, and native Maine wildflower seeds into "seed bombs." Take them home to toss into barren patches of your yard, road edges, or anywhere that needs a touch of wild beauty.

• The Reward: Earn the Guerrilla Gardener Badge

April | Embellishing Fairy Tree Houses

• The Craft: Welcome the spring fae! We will be working with small, pre-built wooden fairy houses, transforming them into whimsical architectural masterpieces using natural mosses, lichens, tree bark, and small river stones. Perfect for tucking into your garden or a favorite houseplant.

May | Foraged Smoke Bundles

• The Craft: Clear out the stagnant winter energy. We will be bundling fragrant dried sage, cedar, sweetgrass, and colorful spring flower heads. You’ll learn how to properly wrap and dry your own herbal smoke wands for cleansing your space, your home, or your energy.

☀️ Summer: The Solstice Quarter

June | Midsummer Fairy Light Lanterns

• The Craft: Celebrate Litha (the Summer Solstice) by capturing the light. Using dried, pressed local flowers, twine, and mod-podge, we will decoupage beautiful botanical designs onto glass mason jars. Finished off with a string of warm fairy lights, these make the perfect magical lanterns for your summer porch.

• The Reward: Earn the Midsummer Lantern Badge

July | Suncatchers & Whimsical Hangings

• The Craft: Harness the high summer sun. We will use copper wire to wrap locally found sea glass, small crystals, and driftwood. You will design and assemble a gorgeous, chiming suncatcher to hang in your window and scatter rainbows across your room.

August | Master Talisman Amulets & Pins

• The Craft: For our final month of the year, we are crafting a talisman of protection and power. Using felt, beautiful metallic threads, tiny beads, and protective charms (like the evil eye or protective runes), you’ll sew a pocket-sized amulet to pin to your jacket or keep near your heart.

• The Reward: Earn the Master Talisman Badge

🎖️ The Seasons Keeper Badge: Scouts who complete all 12 workshops will be awarded our most prestigious token at the August closing ceremony—a large, velvet-backed badge adorned with a trio of charms to signify their mastery of the wheel of the year.
